This guide is very good in its kind . The only thing I can say against it is that there is not enough information on the kind of soil and rock where the several different minerals are found in . And that was really the reason I bought it : I am seeking specific information about the geology of Montana and thought to find it in this book . However , that was my own mistake and the book itself is a very good guide to rockhounding .
Maps aren't very good but has more info and colored picture so you know what you are looking for.
Great book with lots of detail and color pictures! I would recommend to a friend.
Haven't had a chance to use it. Live in Montana and no rockhounding in winter. It looks like it should be good.
