Pigatt became the youngest elected official in South Florida in 2016 as Commissioner for the City of Opa-locka.Commissioner Pigatt graduated magna cum laude from Morehouse College with a Bachelor of Arts in African American Studies and Psychology. As the first in his family to go away to college, Commissioner Pigatt earned over $100,000 while in school and participated in international research training programs in Paris, France and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He conducted national award-winning research at UC-Berkeley, Emory, and Morehouse on high-achieving individuals. I wish this book was around when I was getting ready for college. For parents who have no desires to pay for their children's college tuition or do not want their children to graduate with debt. This book is for you.
Great book!!!!!! When done reading, I gifted to a mentoring program so the young men can gain knowledge!
I've always used traditional methods of finding scholarships like work-study and finding flexible jobs and essay submissions for internal school grants, but THIS book just gave me a whole new perspective! I'm thinking about pursuing a graduate degree and now I know how to do it debt-free while also having amazing experiences! I also loved ready his personal stories on his upbringing and how the odds were against him but he made it happen. A true hustler! Tons of motivation!
